Southern California. This weekend a golfer (who’s name is being withheld) struck a rock and the impact caused a spark. That spark set off a blaze that eventually covered 25 acres, according to the Steven Buck, General Manager of Shady Canyon Golf Course, and required the efforts of 150 Orange County firefighters, writes the Associated Press.
Fire officials said the fire burned through the rough into the vegetation next to the course as a result of the extremely dry conditions. No charged were filed against the golfer, who has not been named.
